Britain Take FEI Nations Cup Eventing 2018 Title Great Britain have won the FEI Nations Cup Eventing Series 2018. Team GBR took the title after the final phase of the series, which took place this weekend at Boekelo, The Netherlands. Their score at the end of the final event was 570, seeing them jump ahead of France who finished with 540 points. Germany was placed third with 420 points. British Grooms Association Launches ‘Grooms Minds Online’ Resource In light of World Mental Health Day (10 October 2018), the British Grooms Association (BGA) have launched ‘Grooms Minds Online’. The online resource has eight areas to support the mental health of grooms including, a mental well-being checker, self-help zone, video scripts, real-life stories and how to get additional support. British Eventing Calls Extraordinary General Meeting British Eventing have called an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), after receiving a requesting petition. The petition for the EGM was signed by 107 members of British Eventing, expressing no confidence in the Chairman and Chief Executive of the governing body. Top British Showjumper Diagnosed with Cancer British Showjumper, Tim Stockdale, has announced that he has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. The showjumper initially raised concerns with his doctor about unusual weight loss, which resulted in a transfer to hospital for further investigation and his unfortunate diagnosis. The British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) have warned of a heightened risk of atypical myopathy in grazing horses. BEVA issued the warning, describing the hot summer as creating potential hay shortages and the forecast of early transatlantic storms as creating the ‘perfect storm’ for the disease. Atypical myopathy is a muscle disease caused by the toxin hypoglyxin A.
