Emaciated and wounded pony found abandoned on busy road  The RSPCA is appealing for information after an abandoned pony who was found emaciated and wounded on a busy road in West Yorkshire. The chestnut pony, now named Peanut, was found in a poor state wandering along the Halifax Road/Queensbury Road on the A647 in Queensbury, leading towards Halifax on Thursday evening (August 23) at about 9pm. ‘Be Nice, Say Hi’ Campaign Launch The British Horse Society (BHS) and Cycling UK have launched a joint initiative to improve horse riding and cycling safety on UK roads. The ‘Be Nice, Say Hi’ includes a downloadable leaflet and two videos which inform cyclist how to pass horses safely both on and off road. Jonty Evans to Continue Recovery in the UK Jonty Evans, the Irish 4* eventer, is set to continue his recovery in the UK after suffering a serious head injury. Evans had been receiving treatment in hospitals in Ireland, after sustaining a life-threatening head injury and being induced into a coma. Online Uproar Forces Removal of Pony Club’s Keep Kicking Sign After a “mixed reaction” to the Pony Club’s motivational sign, the banner was taken down from competition grounds.
