Abbey England Launch 2019 Saddlery Scholarship

AFTER the huge success of its inaugural Saddlery Scholarship last year, Abbey England has launched the 2019 award which will see the lucky recipient winning £500 worth of workshop tools.

The 2018 winner Rachel Lok has been keeping everyone updated with her progress through her monthly blog. It’s been a busy few months for Abbey’s scholarship winner as she further develops her career. Rachel has since completed the SMS Flocking Assessment and embarked upon the SMS Qualified Saddle Fitters Course.

Said Rachel:

I was just delighted to win the first scholarship supported by Abbey England, as well as the prestige of winning the award and using the £500 for tools and equipment, the win has also helped to lift my profile in the industry.”

Whatever your chosen career in the craft saddlery industry whether you are looking to become a Master Saddler, Master Harness Maker or Bridle craft expert, the Abbey England Scholarship is open to everyone currently on a trainee or apprenticeship programme.
