The London International Horse Show has announced an extraordinary addition to its 2025 programme that promises to captivate audiences with centuries-old equestrian artistry. For the first time ever, the world-renowned Hungarian Lipizzaner horses will grace the show with their breathtaking ‘Spirit of the Horses’ display, powered by Ineos Grenadier.

The State Stud Farm of Szilvásvárad Takes Centre Stage
The display features horses from the internationally acclaimed State Stud Farm of Szilvásvárad, home to Hungary’s largest Lipizzaner stud with over 300 horses. Since 1952, this Hungarian town has served as the centre of Lipizzaner breeding, maintaining traditions that span more than 440 years.
The Lipizzaner breed holds such cultural significance that UNESCO has inscribed their breeding on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, recognising their importance to Europe’s equestrian heritage.
Spectacular Performances Await
Audiences will witness the horses’ famous Dressage Carousel, where four Lipizzaner and four Nonius stallions perform synchronised routines blending traditional dressage movements including piaffe and passage. The highlight of the display features two horses performing the iconic “airs above the ground” – the capriole, courbette, and levade.
These extraordinary movements represent a powerful tribute to Hungary’s equestrian and military legacy from the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, performed in perfect harmony between horse and rider.

Captain Dávid Cseri, Szilvásvárad Stud Director, emphasised the historical significance of this collaboration: “The equestrian connections of the United Kingdom and Hungary go back for centuries. During the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, Hungary was the world’s largest exporter of horses, and the British Royal Army made a large contribution to these horse purchases.”
He added: “Now, Hungarian horses are serving in the British Army, and from 2024, as a historical moment, in the Royal Mews as well. Our participation in the 2025 London International Horse Show is an honourable and unforgettable opportunity in the equestrian history of our nations.”
