Four young riders will earn the opportunity to train with Olympic eventer Pippa Funnell MBE at London International Horse Show 2026.
The Pippa Funnell Pony Club Masterclass will return to London International Horse Show this December, placing four rising young riders in the spotlight at one of Britain’s biggest equestrian events.
The participants will earn their places through the 2026 Pony Club National Championships before joining Funnell in the New Horizon Plastics London Arena on Monday 21 December.
Four riders to qualify
Places will be awarded to the winners of the four sections of the evoke PC100 Eventing Championship, held on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 August.
Each champion will be invited to take part in the masterclass, receiving coaching from one of British eventing’s most accomplished riders in front of a live London audience.
The session will focus on the key principles of successful riding, positive horsemanship and the partnership between horse and rider. Funnell will coach from the ground, explaining the purpose of each exercise and sharing knowledge gained throughout her career.
Speaking ahead of the event, Pippa Funnell MBE said: “I am hugely looking forward to re-joining the London International Masterclass line-up. The Pony Club is an institution very close to my heart, and it’s brilliant to see how these up-and-coming riders learn and develop over the course of our session! An eventing legend
Funnell has represented Great Britain at three Olympic Games, winning team silver at Sydney 2000 and team silver and individual bronze at Athens 2004.
In 2003, she became the first rider to complete the Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing following consecutive victories at Kentucky, Badminton and Burghley.
Alongside her competitive career, Funnell is recognised for mentoring younger riders and promoting horse welfare, thoughtful training and positive horsemanship.
The Pippa Funnell Pony Club Masterclass takes place on Monday 21 December 2026 at Excel London. London International Horse Show runs from 17 to 21 December.
