Headlining the 2020 International Eventing Forum (IEF) will be none other than eventing legend Andrew Nicholson and Grand National winning jockey Robbie Power.

Six-time Olympian Nicholson was a previous speaker at the IEF, and needs little introduction to those passionate about eventing. His sell out appearance at the Forum in 2015 was exceptional and left attendees hanging on his every word, so regular attendees will no doubt be extremely excited to see him return.

The skills, determination and preparation required to win a Grand National are without question, but what many people may not know about Robbie Power is that he is also an extremely talented show jumper, having won team silver at the European young riders championships in his youth and having contested the legendary Hickstead Derby in 2014.

These two ‘equestrian legends’ will come together for a demonstration and discussion on the development of “Horsemanship” when jumping cross country, show jumping and in racing.

Always keen to inject thought, insight and a questioning approach to convention, the IEF team bring ‘World Record Barrel Racer’ Nicole Aichele together with Dressage supremo Adam Kemp. While barrel racing and dressage may not seem an obvious fit, both require exceptional balance, responsiveness and precision and these two masters in their class will exchange ideas – from dressage to barrel racing and vice versa.

With recent scoring changes, the crucial importance of speed and stamina are back at the forefront in eventing and Gillian Carlisle from the Thoroughbred Training Centre in Lancashire will head a demonstration on Thoroughbreds and their importance in Eventing.

Rounding off the speaker line up will be Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr Michael Eames and Martial Arts expert Gary Spence, who will discuss that very pertinent ‘topic’ that we all need to know – but hope we won’t need too often – how to fall in a safer way.

The 2020 International Eventing Forum takes place at Hartpury Equine, Gloucester on Monday 3rd February.

The day is a must attend event that will deliver endless “Horsemanship” insights and will certainly put you on the right track to success, whether you’re a trainer or rider and whether you’re heading for your first BE80 or aiming for 5* success.

Tickets are just £50 if purchased in advance (or £45 if purchased before the end of December), so book today to avoid disappointment! It is not to be missed.
