Top Rider Steals Win on New Ride at Strzegom

Top event rider, Harry Meade rode to win the CCI4*L class at the Strzegom October Festival on his new ride Superstition, earlier this week.

Owned by Mandy Gray, Harry had acquired the ride on the 10-year-old chestnut gelding only 10 days prior to the competition.

Harry and his grand new steed fought off competition from other world-class talents such as Australia’s Andrew Hoy, who onboard his ride Vassily de Lassos, who had to settle for second place. Following a strong start in the dressage, with a fantastic clear cross country, Harry was fortunate to hold more than a fence in hand during the final phase of the competition.

In third place was French rider, Maxime Livio riding Vegas des Bourson who had climbed from joint 7th position following the dressage.

The horse was previously ridden by 4* eventer Lucy Jackson, since 2015. During their time together the pair had enjoyed a selection of successes at Twesledown, Gatcombe and Chatsworth International.

Over 440 horse and rider combinations entered the Festival for 2019, a record high for the event which is based in Poland.
