Richard Davison on-board for ‘Dressage for All’

British Dressage is pleased to announce that dressage personality Richard Davison has joined the line-up as host and compere for this year’s British Dressage National Convention, in association with Harrison Clark Rickerbys and St John’s Chambers.  Held at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire over 19 – 20 November, this year’s inspirational event headlines ‘Dressage for All’ in recognition of the sport’s increasing participant diversity and improved accessibility to competing.

Four-time Olympian Richard Davison FBHS has been involved in dressage for over four decades in a myriad of roles so has seen the sport from many angles. Rider, coach, manager, journalist, organiser, committee member and chair, examiner and award holder, Richard can list them all on an impressive CV.  He’s chaired the Global Dressage Forum for 15 years so is the ideal candidate to oversee the proceedings at Hartpury.

There was no hesitation by Richard in agreeing to compere the event; “Having had an insight to this year’s programme, I knew I really wanted to be involved; it was a case of ‘you can definitely count me in!’.  It’s two full days of exciting content which reflects our ever-changing sport in the company of some of dressage’s great names and talent and I’m looking forward to my role as host where I can really quiz the presenters and drill down to get the most for the audience.  There’s a huge swell of enthusiasm for dressage after the inspirational performances at Rio and this event will motivate and provide the tools for all who come to reach their dressage potential,” Richard commented.

Richard’s name sits proudly alongside our already-assembled cast including Stephen Clarke, Ferdi Eilberg, Paul Hayler, Gareth Hughes, David Hunt and Darryl Thickitt.  There’s not many training events around where you could spend a day or two in such esteemed company. The programme will cover the levels of dressage from Prelim to Grand Prix and the essential building blocks along the way with special emphasis on how to get the best out of any horse or rider according to age, ability, confirmation and type.  Coaches, judges, riders, fans and anyone interested in the art of training horses will benefit from the expertise on hand and with Richard in the chair, you know that no question will go unanswered and every ounce of knowledge imparted.
