The FEI have launched their first eLeague series, in time for this years FEI Dressage World Cup™.
The FEI eLeague Dressage is an expansion on their well-established Spectator Judging® app. The app, which was a huge hit at the FEI World Equestrian Games 2018, allows fans to take the chair of the judge. Making fans an integral part of the series and experience, it creates an audience score and ranking in real-time.
The eLeague expansion hopes to engage the audience further, users collecting points through their participation in judging throughout the FEI Dressage World Cup™. A live leaderboard will then be displayed across the FEI website and the Spectator Judging® app, so fans can witness their progression up the ranks.
The lucky individual who maintains the top-spot on the leader board will be rewarded with an exclusive VIP trip for two to the FEI Dressage World Cup™ in Gothenburg, Sweden. They will be immersed in the final’s atmosphere, having the opportunity to go behind the scenes and meet the athletes.
On the announcement of the new eLeague, FEI Commercial Director, Ralph Straus commented;
The FEI eLeague Dressage is the future of fan engagement. Fans will participate actively in the series, not only by judging, but also by sharing content. Together with SAP we are committed to audience engagement and we hope that equestrian fans all over the world will enjoy this exciting opportunity.”
As part of the FEI’s global fan engagement strategy, they are continuing to develop incentives and interactive experiences, such as the Spectator Judging® app and eLeague. The FEI also hope to add additional options to accumulate points within the app, for example by interacting with FEI channels or posting individual user-generated content.
The winner of eLeague will be announced in March at ’s-Hertongenbosch, in the Netherlands; the last qualifier in the Western European League season.
