Change to Team GB Olympic Showjumping Team For Tokyo 2020
A change to the Team GB Olympic Showjumping Team for Tokyo 2020 has been made, after careful consideration.
Following a full collaboration with the team, a last-minute change to the Team GB Olympic Showjumping team has been made. Just hours before competition is set to take place at the Bajikoen Equestrian Park, the switch-up was announced by British Equestrian.
In accordance with Article 609 of FEI Regulations, Team GB are change. their competition line up. The team have decided to bring in Harry Charles with Romeo 88, in the place of Holly Smith with Denver.
Article 609 allows the opportunity to make a pre-competition change for the team competition up to two hours before the class begins. A substitution may be made provided it is completed during the period between the end of the Jumping Team Qualifier and up to two hours before the start of the Jumping Team Final on Saturday 7 August.
Harry Charles will now be making his debut appearance at the Olympics at the age of just 22-years-old. He takes a 12-year-old Zangersheide gelding, Romeo 88, into competition. A horse previously under top ranking Irish rider, Darragh Kenny, the gelding has plenty of experience under his belt. Meanwhile, Harry and the bay have been seen ever improving results on the international circuit.
