BETA Safety Week Returns for 2019
When: 27 April to 5 May 2019
The British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) have confirmed BETA Safety Week will return for 2019.
The annual initiative, introduced last year, is set to once again to fly the flag for rider safety by raising the importance of safety gear, the correct fitting, and it being up to standard.
We are really pleased that BETA Safety Week is returning to drive home the key messages about rider safety,”
said BETA executive director Claire Williams.
We had no idea how successful the campaign was going to be when we introduced it last year – the response was quite phenomenal. This time, we are moving forward, building on the firm foundations that have already been set. We know that there are other awareness-raising initiatives highlighting rider safety, but our campaign focuses clearly and effectively on the importance of a safety garments’ provenance, fit, correct fastening and appropriate safety standards.”
This hard-hitting campaign is being backed by some of the sport’s top riders and organisations such as British Eventing, the British Horse Society and The Pony Club.
Perfectly placed for the start of the competition season, BETA Safety Week aims to encourage riders to visit participating BETA retailers for reliable and knowledgeable information and advice, and to get their riding hats and body protectors checked.
The campaign is truly international, with retailers across mainland Europe, including Germany and the Netherlands, and the United States taking part. A full list of participating BETA retail members can be found at .
All participating retailers will show their support by displaying BETA Safety Week marketing material such as bunting, window stickers hat bags, banners and selfie boards for in-store photographs.
