The first World Clydesdale Show in the UK will be held at the brand new event complex, P&J Live. The show will run across four days from 20 to 23 October 2022. Historically the show has been held in North America, however, in 2022 the show will be brought to Scotland, home of the Clydesdale Horse. This will widen the exhibition of horses not only within the UK, but also to European exhibitors.
The first World Clydesdale Show was held back in 2007 in Madison, Wisconsin and since that date has only ever been held in The USA and Canada. Back in 2017 an exploratory group was set up to examine the validity of bringing the show home to Scotland. A small committee went to the Clydesdale Breeders of the USA Sale in St Louis. They presented to the AGM of the Clydesdale Breeders of the USA and found that the support for holding the World Show in Scotland was overwhelming!
At the 2018 show, in Madison Wisconsin, the Committee were given the opportunity to announce that in October 2022 the Show is coming home to Scotland.

Attracting international visitors, the 2022 Show will promote Clydesdale breeding in the UK, and further raise the profile of both the show and the society through national and international coverage, and encouraging new audiences to learn more about the Clydesdale Breed.

The Committee consider all generations of the Clydesdale community and the public to be paramount to the success of the preservation of the breed and will therefore be putting on a number of youth classes to ensure that opportunities exist to bring the younger members of the community together with the experienced members to encourage the exchange of knowledge and experience.
