Strictly Come Dancing’s Flavia Cacace, ITV’s Dr Scott Miller, and actor Annette Badland joined forces to support working horses and donkeys at Brooke’s annual Christmas carol service in London on 8 December 2025.
The event, held at the Royal Military Chapel (the Guards’ Chapel) in Westminster, saw a host of celebrity guests, including eventer Gemma Stevens and broadcaster Angela Rippon. Guests were welcomed by two donkeys, Pixie and Kiska, before enjoying a performance from the Guards’ Chapel Choir.
Flavia, Scott, and Annette delivered festive readings during the concert, highlighting the vital work of Brooke, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of working horses, donkeys, and mules around the world.
Dr Scott Miller said:
“It was a real privilege to be part of this beautiful carol service and to support Brooke’s vital work. As a vet, I’ve seen first-hand how much working animals endure, often without access to even the most basic care. This Christmas, I hope people will take a moment to reflect on their incredible resilience and help Brooke give them the care and dignity they deserve.”
Flavia Cacace addressed supporters, saying:
“Thank you so much for supporting Brooke and all its wonderful work. I wish you a very merry Christmas.”
Annette Badland, recently announced as Brooke’s first Women’s Ambassador, said:
“Sharing this festive evening with Brooke was truly heart-warming. The carols, the setting, and the wonderful donkeys Pixie and Kiska were a joyful reminder of just how special these animals are. Supporting Brooke means helping to ensure that the animals who work so tirelessly every day can have a life worth living.”
Brooke’s 2025 Christmas Appeal draws attention to the thousands of donkeys, horses, and mules who transport goods globally, often with little access to water, food, or shade. The charity’s CEO, Chris Wainwright, commented:
“We are so grateful to all that attended to give their support on this very special evening. This Christmas, we ask people to reflect on the hardworking horses, donkeys and mules who are the backbone of communities worldwide – quietly transporting goods that we as consumers take for granted… Money raised from Brooke’s Christmas carol service will help to give these animals a life of respect and compassion.”
