Our proposed 108-line perm features Rattlin Home as the banker. Wider coverage is included in the competitive handicap chases later on the card.

Today’s Placepot picks for Bangor

Leg 1, 1.46 Bangor

Selections: Crystal Glance and Glance Of Glory

Crystal Glance returned to form when finishing second at Uttoxeter six weeks ago. That recent run could give her an important fitness advantage over several returning rivals.

The six-year-old has previously won at Bangor and Ben Smith removes 6lb from her allocated weight. Her experience at the course earns her the first place in the perm.

Glance Of Glory provides the cover. He followed a third-place finish with victory at Warwick on his latest appearance and arrives with more recent winning form than most of the field.

Leg 2, 2.16 Bangor

Banker: Rattlin Home

Rattlin Home is today’s Placepot banker.

Dan Skelton’s five-year-old won an Irish point before finishing second in a Kempton bumper. He now makes his hurdling debut with Harry Skelton taking the ride.

This remains a novice contest containing several unexposed runners. However, Rattlin Home’s point-to-point experience and encouraging bumper performance give him strong claims of reaching the required places.

Leg 3, 2.46 Bangor

Selections: Queen Maeve, Hornica and Crystal Spring

Queen Maeve ended last season with a maiden-hurdle victory at Ayr. The four-year-old receives weight from her older rivals and represents Dan and Harry Skelton.

Hornica also finished her previous campaign with a win. She has undergone wind surgery since scoring at Wincanton and returns for Ben Pauling with Beau Morgan claiming 5lb.

Crystal Spring completes the three selections. She won over this distance at Huntingdon before finishing second on her next appearance. Although returning from an absence, her previous consistency makes her difficult to overlook.

Analiese was a confirmed non-runner when the selections were prepared.

Leg 4, 3.16 Bangor

Selections: Strong Run, Just Golden and Douglas Hyde

The fourth leg brings together several runners making their first starts over fences.

Strong Run won twice over hurdles last season, including a two-mile-five-furlong mares’ novice race at Fontwell. Her build and pedigree suggest that chasing could suit her.

Just Golden also begins her chasing career after winning a Warwick maiden hurdle. The shorter distance may help after she appeared to find almost three miles too demanding on her handicap debut.

Douglas Hyde was placed on his first four starts over hurdles following an Irish point-to-point victory. Rebecca Curtis’s runner is another who could improve now sent over fences.

Leg 5, 3.46 Bangor

Selections: Inedit D’Amour and Falco Des Pins

Inedit D’Amour returned to chasing with an encouraging second at Uttoxeter. The horses immediately behind him subsequently won, which gives that performance additional substance.

He competes from the same handicap mark and Harry Brown’s 7lb claim reduces the weight he must carry.

Falco Des Pins offers cover against the likely favourite. He won consecutive chases at Ludlow and Leicester before finishing second at Fontwell. His proven ability over fences is valuable in a field containing several chasing newcomers.

Leg 6, 4.16 Bangor

Selections: Twistthenightaway, Liege Ardent and Soldier For Glory

Twistthenightaway won over hurdles at Bangor in February and begins his chasing career for Dan Skelton. He is bred to appreciate fences and remains open to improvement over staying distances.

Liege Ardent finished second on his most recent completed start over fences. He returns from a break with James Bowen booked and could become involved if reproducing that performance.

Soldier For Glory adds further protection in the final leg. The six-year-old has been placed on both completed starts under rules and now switches to fences for Rebecca Curtis and Sean Bowen.
