Four British meetings remain on Tuesday’s racing programme, with Flat racing at Catterick and Wolverhampton alongside jumps cards at Newcastle and Bangor-on-Dee.

Horse racing today, Tuesday 27 October, begins at Catterick at 12.40pm and continues into the evening at Wolverhampton. In between, Newcastle and Bangor-on-Dee stage jumps meetings, with novice hurdles and chases among the races on offer.

Galway’s eight-race Flat card has been abandoned following concerns over the heavy ground. The Irish meeting had been due to begin at 12.50pm.

Odds change throughout the day. The prices below are an early snapshot recorded at 8.17am and may no longer be available. Runners, going and race times can also change, so check the latest racecards before racing.

Newcastle: Wilde’s Legacy heads the opening market

Newcastle’s seven-race jumps card begins with the 12.56pm Border Minstrel Dog Friendly Pub Maiden Hurdle, a qualifier for the Go North Night Nurse series.

Wilde’s Legacy was quoted at 4/7 in the early betting, making the horse one of the shortest-priced favourites on the day’s programme.

The meeting concludes at 4.01pm with a National Hunt Flat race.

Bangor-on-Dee stages six-race jumps card

Bangor-on-Dee opens at 1.46pm with a conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle over nearly three miles. The following race, the 2.16pm Jodie Standing’s Point-To-Point Recruits Novices’ Hurdle, is a Class 3 contest over two miles.

Rattlin Home featured among the early market leaders for the 2.16pm race. An exchange-linked price of approximately 0.58/1 was listed at 8.17am, although exchange prices and bookmaker odds are not directly comparable and may have changed.

There are three chases on the second half of the card, starting with the 3.16pm Mount Vines Novices’ Handicap Chase. The meeting finishes with the three-mile Overton Handicap Chase at 4.16pm.

Catterick: soft ground for afternoon Flat racing

Catterick’s eight-race programme starts with the 12.40pm Racing To School EBF Maiden Stakes for two-year-olds. Cyberspace was an early 11/10 favourite for the five-furlong contest.

The ground was described as soft, with light rain reported. One declared runner, Runaway Lucy, was listed as a non-runner in the opening race.

The afternoon includes two divisions of the Celebrating Helen MacKinnon’s LX Years Handicap, followed by a Class 4 six-furlong handicap at 2.40pm. The final race is a mile-and-a-half handicap at 4.10pm.

Wolverhampton: evening racing on the all-weather

Wolverhampton takes the racing through to 8.30pm, with nine races scheduled on the Tapeta surface. The card begins at 4.30pm with a hands-and-heels apprentice handicap.

The 6.00pm Saisons D’Or 100th Race Handicap marks a notable milestone for the horse after which the contest is named. Ridger was quoted at 11/10 in the early market.

Racing continues with handicaps over distances ranging from five furlongs to a mile and a half. The final contest is the 8.30pm Make The Move To Midnite Handicap over five furlongs.
