Stallion, Ramiro B continues to make a huge impact on the equestrian world despite passing away at the end of last year.
Oliver Townend made history at the Land Rover Kentucky Horse Trials following his win this year with the Ramiro B sired, Cooley Master Class to secure the title two years in a row.
Leading throughout, Oliver and Angela Hislop’s 14-year-old gelding proved faultless on their way to the winner’s podium, heading the dressage before jumping two classy rounds in the cross-country and show jumping.
Cooley Master Class was sourced by Richard Sheane from Cooley Farm, in Ireland who said:
In my opinion, Ramiro B is without doubt one of the best sires of event horses that the world will ever see. The results of his progeny, at the very highest level of the sport, prove this time and time again. He consistently stamps his stock with phenomenal movement, jump, temperament and blood. Cooley Farm would not be where it is today without Ramiro B’s help!”

To mark the huge influence Ramiro B has made on Sport Horse Breeding the new Bolesworth Young Horse Championship Show – August 14 to 18 – is holding a Ramiro B Elite Auction for foals, yearlings and two-year-olds sired by the legendary stallion.
As well as the Ramiro B influence, youngstock chosen have also been selected for their exceptional damlines, with a combination of proven performers and top Thoroughbred bloodlines.
Held on the opening night of August 14 it will certainly be an evening with an eventing theme running through it with the second leg of an exciting new Eventing Grand Prix series taking place.
Leg one, sponsored by Cazenove Capital will be staged at the Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show on Thursday, June 13, with the prestigious final then held at the Theraplate UK Liverpool International Horse Show at the end of the year.
