Stella McCartney’s Wild Horses Film Supports British and American Horse Welfare Charities

A fashion film starring Kylie Jenner is taking on a new purpose as Stella McCartney announces support for World Horse Welfare and American Wild Horse Conservation through her Winter 2026 Wild Horses campaign.

British fashion designer Stella McCartney is using the international attention surrounding her Wild Horses film to raise awareness of equine welfare, announcing a partnership with two charities dedicated to protecting horses.

The initiative will support UK-based World Horse Welfare and American Wild Horse Conservation in the United States, with both organisations set to benefit from increased exposure through the fashion house’s global platforms and financial contributions from the brand.

The announcement follows the release of Wild Horses, part of the Stella McCartney Icon Series, starring Kylie Jenner and directed by filmmaker Gia Coppola, with cinematography by Academy Award winner Autumn Durald Arkapaw.

The film draws on McCartney’s lifelong connection with horses, a relationship that has influenced her creative work since the establishment of her fashion house in 2001.

World Horse Welfare Among Charities to Benefit

World Horse Welfare, the British charity working to improve the lives of horses in the UK and internationally, is one of the two organisations selected for the initiative.

The charity’s work includes rescuing and rehabilitating horses, supporting responsible ownership, improving the welfare of working equines and campaigning for better protection through legislation and policy.

Alongside the British organisation, American Wild Horse Conservation campaigns to protect free-roaming horses and burros across the United States. Its work focuses on humane, science-based conservation, stronger legal protections and the preservation of wild herds.

Through the campaign, Stella McCartney will encourage its international audience to learn more about both charities, support their work and make donations directly.

The fashion house has also pledged an undisclosed financial contribution to each organisation.

Kylie Jenner Brings Wild Horses to an International Audience

The involvement of Kylie Jenner has helped bring the Wild Horses project to audiences outside the traditional fashion and equestrian sectors.

Directed by Gia Coppola, the film combines fashion with equestrian imagery, reflecting McCartney’s personal connection with horses and her wider commitment to animal welfare.

The designer has frequently drawn inspiration from horses, having grown up around them and developed an appreciation for their strength, sensitivity and relationship with people.

By extending the film into a charitable campaign, McCartney hopes to use its international reach to encourage greater public interest in the welfare challenges facing horses.

Fashion and Animal Welfare

Animal welfare has remained central to Stella McCartney’s fashion house since its launch in 2001.

The brand has consistently rejected the use of animal leather, fur, feathers and exotic skins, choosing alternative materials in its luxury collections.

The Wild Horses initiative builds on that approach, directing attention towards the organisations working to protect horses both in domestic settings and in the wild.

For the two charities, the campaign provides an opportunity to introduce their work to a much broader audience, including people who may be unfamiliar with the welfare challenges facing horses in Britain and overseas.

The initiative also highlights how influential figures and international brands can use their platforms to bring greater attention to animal welfare.
