British equestrian sport and major event management professional Molly Day (GBR) has been appointed as the FEI’s Director of the Eventing & Driving Department, a newly created position following the strategic merger of the two disciplines’ departments.
The FEI confirmed the department merger in 2025, bringing together Eventing and Driving & Para Driving to “capitalise on shared opportunities” and support long-term growth. The new structure takes effect from January 2026.
Day will officially join the FEI on 1 February 2026 and will report to FEI Executive Director of Sport & Games Áine Power.
International event and operations experience
Day most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Equestrian Events Inc. in Lexington, Kentucky, where she directed one of only seven 5* level Eventing competitions in the world.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Festival and Events Management from Edinburgh Napier University and has also held senior leadership roles with The Jockey Club in the United Kingdom, including General Manager positions at Haydock Park and Carlisle Racecourses.
At Haydock Park, Day led one of the UK’s leading racecourses, managed a major capital investment project, strengthened stakeholder partnerships and earned national recognition for customer experience, according to the FEI. She also oversaw the reopening of Carlisle Racecourses following the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I am honoured to take on the role of Director of the FEI’s merged Eventing & Driving Department,” said Day.
“I look forward to bringing my experience in delivering major equestrian events and managing complex operations to this role. Working with the talented team in Lausanne, I hope to strengthen connections across these two disciplines, support organisers, officials, and athletes, and help Eventing, Driving continue to grow sustainably at a global level.”

FEI Secretary General Sabrina Ibáñez said the federation was “delighted” to welcome Day following an international executive search.

“Molly’s proven leadership skills and strategic approach will be invaluable as she takes the helm of our newly merged Eventing and Driving Department. We are confident that under her guidance, the disciplines will be strengthened and positioned for sustainable growth on the international stage.”
Governance and inclusion work
Alongside her event and racecourse leadership experience, Day has contributed to governance and inclusion initiatives in sport, serving as a Trustee of Calvert Trust Stables and on the Women in Racing committee, supporting work on safeguarding, sustainability, gender equity and talent development.
