Following a UK search and with hundreds of entries to choose from, the winner of the TopSpec £3,000 sponsorship search is dressage rider Jessica McConkey.
Fifteen-year-old Jessica had her breakthrough last year with the Dutch Warmblood, Lady Gaga, a stunning 17-year-old, 16.2hh bay mare.
Said Jessica:
To join the TopSpec team of sponsored riders and ultimately cement a partnership with TopSpec is not only something I am very proud of but I am also very grateful for.
Although we are not a professional yard, I rely on an amazing team. Winning this sponsorship is a fantastic contribution to the team’s commitment and my dressage ambitions.
TopSpec is already part of our journey as a trusted source of nutrition and are always on hand to offer us the best advice.”
From their first overseas international at Joosland in the Netherlands, Jessica and Lady Gaga’s partnership continued to grow leading to their prestigious selection for the Junior European Championships in Fountainebleu in France.
The duo finished as the lead British pairing and Jessica thoroughly enjoyed the event and team environment. The pair went on to achieve their first international win at Waregem in Belgium and gained a personal best at Aachen Youngstars.
Having had their achievements highlighted by British Dressage and Horse & Hound, along with an invitation to perform at the HorseQuest FEI Gala Evening, Jessica and Lady Gaga’s partnership is continuing to go from strength to strength.
Their fantastic £3,000 worth of sponsorship from TopSpec includes £1,000 worth of TopSpec Feed, £1,000 towards training and £1,000 worth of horse and rider clothing.
This year, Jessica will begin to share the progress of another gem in her team, Classic Nona. Working hard with her coaches Gareth and Rebecca Hughes, Jessica is bringing on the 16hh, six-year-old bay mare.
Said Katy Mickle of TopSpec:
Thank-you to everyone who took the time to enter, we have had so many amazing entries which made choosing a winner really hard.
Jessica already feeds TopSpec and continuously highlights our contribution to her horse’s condition.
With two years left competing at Junior level we are very excited to see how Jessica will progress.”
