Horse racing today Saturday: November Handicap and Aintree Grade 2 action

Doncaster brings the British Flat turf season to a close, while No Drama This End is among the leading attractions over fences.

Horse racing today, Saturday 7 November 2026, features six active meetings across Britain and Ireland. Doncaster starts at 11.55am, with Aintree, Gowran Park, Uttoxeter and Kelso providing jumps racing before Southwell takes the programme through to 6.30pm.

The November Handicap is the centrepiece at Doncaster. Aintree stages two Grade 2 contests, including the Rising Stars Novices’ Chase, which has moved from Wincanton following the cancellation of that course’s fixture.

Odds change throughout the day. Prices quoted below are from published Saturday markets and may differ between bookmakers. Going, runners and race times can also change.

Castle Cove and fellow previous winner Lord Melbourne bring an added historical angle: no horse has won the November Handicap twice in its 150-year history.

Earlier, Doncaster stages the 2.10pm Wentworth Stakes over six furlongs and the 2.45pm Gillies Fillies’ Stakes over a mile and a quarter, both Listed races. Coul Angel was quoted at 9/2 in the published Wentworth market, with Revoir at 6/1 for the fillies’ contest.

Aintree: No Drama This End faces Talk To The Man

The 2.25pm Boodles Rising Stars Novices’ Chase is one of the afternoon’s main races over fences.

No Drama This End was quoted at 5/4 in a published odds comparison, with Sam Twiston-Davies booked for Paul Nicholls. Talk To The Man is a close market rival, while Taurus Bay adds depth to the contest over approximately two miles and four furlongs.

Off The Jury and Chanceawetmorning have been declared non-runners.

The 1.45pm William Hill Molyneux Hurdle, formerly registered as the Elite Hurdle, is the other Grade 2 contest. Alexei headed the updated published market at 8/13 following Mydaddypaddy’s withdrawal.

Aintree also stages a 3.00pm Pertemps qualifier over approximately three miles. Our Guide was quoted at 10/3, the same published price as Boombawn for the 3.35pm handicap chase.

Kelso, Uttoxeter and Gowran Park complete the jumps programme

Kelso’s seven-race card starts at 12.20pm and finishes at 3.45pm. The reported going is good, good to soft in places.

Uttoxeter also stages seven races, beginning five minutes earlier at 12.15pm. Eremenko has been withdrawn from the 3.05pm race.

Gowran Park supplies the Irish action with eight races from 12.10pm. Its separate going reports are worth noting: the chase course is good, while the hurdle course is good to yielding.

Southwell takes racing into the evening

Southwell’s nine-race Tapeta card begins at 2.05pm, overlapping with the main afternoon races before continuing until 6.30pm.

Soames Forsyte and Sunshine And Roses are non-runners in the opener. Ottawa has been withdrawn from the 4.25pm race, with Glitter Code also out of the 6.00pm contest.
