Warwick racing abandoned
Warwick’s six-race jumps meeting has been abandoned. It had been due to start at 2.00pm and finish at 4.52pm.

Kempton: Wise Approach faces Kind Of Blue
The 7.30pm ebfstallions.com Conditions Stakes is the central race on Kempton’s nine-race card. Six horses have been declared for the Class 2 contest over six furlongs.
Wise Approach headed the early market at 7/4, followed by Kind Of Blue at 9/4. Montassib and Mitbaahy were available at 6/1, with Spy Chief at 7/1 and Heathcliff at 25/1.
Kind Of Blue brings Group 1 form to the contest. The six-year-old won the British Champions Sprint at Ascot in 2024 and finished second in a Group 2 race at York earlier this season. His two subsequent performances were less convincing, although his official rating of 111 keeps him closely matched with the market leader.
Wise Approach is rated 112 and arrives after finishing fourth in the Group 2 Park Stakes at Doncaster. This return to six furlongs asks a different question, but his recent form explains why bookmakers installed him as the early favourite.
Real Bullet bids to stay unbeaten
Real Bullet is expected to start among the shortest-priced favourites at Kempton when he runs in the 4.25pm EBF Restricted Novice Stakes.
The three-year-old won both his starts at Windsor and was priced at 15/8 in the early market. Birkett Bank followed at 7/2, with Till Then and Marhaba Ya Tayib at 5/1.
Real Bullet has been gelded since his latest victory. He must now transfer his turf form to Kempton’s Polytrack surface, where track position can become important in six-furlong races.
Venetian Lion is another Kempton runner likely to attract support. He was an early 3/1 favourite for the 7.00pm mile handicap after winning his previous three races.
Catterick: Wardlaw leads the 5.25 market
Wardlaw was the early 15/8 favourite for Catterick’s 5.25pm Amstel Gallop Handicap, a Class 4 contest over a mile and a half.
He finished second at Kempton on his latest appearance and has regularly made the frame. His habit of missing the break remains a concern, particularly if the field settles into its positions quickly.
Ina Mina was next in the betting at 7/2, ahead of Green Area at 9/2 and Secret Beach at 11/2.
Musselburgh: Startling heads competitive sprint
The 3.58pm Weatherbys Stallion Book Handicap is the richest race on Musselburgh’s card. Twelve runners are due to contest the five-furlong Class 4 handicap, worth £20,000.
Startling headed an open early market at 4/1. Jer Batt and Azuinthejungle were both priced at 7/1, with Mo Of Cairo, Hanney Girl and Anaisa available at around 8/1.
Musselburgh’s sharp five furlongs generally rewards horses able to secure a favourable position before the field reaches the home straight. The draw and any change in the going should be considered before the race.
Irish racing today: Bellewstown and Sligo
Bellewstown stages seven Flat races on ground described as soft to heavy. That going is likely to place a greater emphasis on stamina, even in the shorter races.
Nouvel Espoir was the early 11/4 favourite for the 4.25pm Gannon City Recovery & Recycling Handicap over five furlongs. Bay Of Supremacy was priced at 7/2, while Harry’s Hill and Happy Henry were both around 9/2.
Sligo’s seven-race jumps programme begins at 2.20pm. Swing Time headed the early betting at 2/1 for the 4.40pm Brenda Anderson Memorial Handicap Chase over two miles and five furlongs.
Hurricane Honey was quoted at 5/1, followed by Kalsman at 13/2. With 15 runners declared, it is one of the afternoon’s more competitive betting races.
