Horse Killed on road in Chippenham

A horse has been killed, while another sustained minor injuries in Chippenham, Wilstshire.

A horse owner was leading a group of three horses along the B4069 close to the railway bridge in Dauntsey Lock, at around 7.30am on Tuesday 26th October, when a lorry driving down the road caused a crash.

While one of the horses suffered minor injuries, unfortunately the other died at the scene. The lady walking the horses was taken to Great Western Hospital with a trauma to her shoulder.

The female handler is believed to have been moving horses, which was a regular occurrence, in-between fields when the accident happened.

The road was closed in both directions as emergency services dealt with situation accordingly.
