A horse has been killed, while another sustained minor injuries in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

A horse owner was leading a group of three horses along the B4069 close to the railway bridge in Dauntsey Lock, at around 7.30am on Tuesday 26th October, when a lorry driving down the road caused a crash.

While one of the horses suffered minor injuries, unfortunately, the other died at the scene. The lady walking the horses was taken to Great Western Hospital with trauma to her shoulder.

The female handler is believed to have been moving horses, which was a regular occurrence, in-between fields when the accident happened.

The road was closed in both directions as emergency services dealt with the situation accordingly.

Feature image is to represent the road being closed, and not the exact location of the incident.

We will endeavor to update this post when additional information has been officially released.
