Hartpury Festival of Dressage Sets Dujardin and Hester up for Rio
There’s no such thing as pre-event nerves for world-renowned dressage duo Charlotte Dujardin and Carl Hester as they take 1st and 2nd place in the Hartpury Festival of Dressage Grand Prix, ahead of their venture to Rio.
Dujardin and Hester, who will ride for Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, have proved themselves and their horses, yet again, worthy of Team GB selection whilst competing at Hartpury this week. This is the last event the pair will ride in on home turf (or sand if you prefer) before the August 2016 Olympics.
Dujardin, riding the unmistakable Valegro, finished first on an impressive 83% with Hester, riding the 18hh gelding Nip Tuck, in second on 78% for the FEI Grand Prix yesterday afternoon (Friday 8/7/16).
In third place was Spencer Wilson on board his Olympic ride, Super Nova II; Wilson finished just behind Hester on 77%. In fourth place was West Sussex based Fiona Bigwood, the last of the Team GB Olympic members, riding the 11-year-old mare, Atterupgaards Orthilia.
We wish Dujardin, Hester, Wilson and Bigwood along with travelling reserve Lara Griffith, the very best of luck with their participation in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
The Hartpury Festival of Dressage will be available to watch, for the remaining days’ action, via the live stream. Visit http://hartpuryfestivalofdressage.co.uk/live-video-streaming/
