Charlotte Dujardin has set the expectation for Rio during last night’s Gala Evening in the Superflex FEI CDI Grand Prix Freestyle at Hartpury Festival of Dressage.
Maintaining top form, Charlotte Dujardin and her humble steed Valegro, finished a staggering 17% (90.62%) ahead of second placed rider Henriette Anderson riding Warlocks Charm (73.87%).
Irish rider Roland Tong finished less than 1% behind Anderson, in third, riding the 2005 bay gelding, Rybrook Ambience.
Dujardin rode to music she has planned for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, wowing the audience to finish off another spectacular day’s dressage at Hartpury.
Elite Stallions British Young Horse Championship
The class followed the Elite Stallions British Young Horse Championship, where Dujardin also topped the leader board riding Ann Corry and Carl Hester’s, Hawtins Delicato. The Diamond Hills x Ravenna Elite 16.2 gelding who has, until this year, only competed up to advanced medium took the class in is stride and seems to be enjoying his new level of working.
Hot on the pairs heels was Hampshire-based Sonnar Murray-Brown riding his own Erlentanz. The duo rode an impressive test and proved his injury caused by an awful car crash in January 2009, which seen the 27-year-old take several years out of the saddle to regain full health, is now behind him and is ready to take on some of the World’s best!
Today see’s Hartpury’s Festival of Dressage conclude with more top class dressage action. The event will be available via the live stream.
