Gracie Spinks Donations Surpass £10,000 After Tragic Death

Gracie Spinks donations surpass £10,000 after her tragic death.

It has been little over a week since the GoFundMe page for Gracie Spinks was been set up. Launched to raise funds to help family look after Gracie’s horse, Paddy, the original target has been smashed. Aiming for £2,500, the fundraising pot now stands at over £12,000!

Along with donations, some heart felt messages have been left in memory of the equestrian starlight.

Dronfield Swimming Club, where she swam from a young age, later becoming a coach, left a statement;

From all of the coaches at Dronfield Swimming Club. Gracie was a pleasure to teach from such a young age and then in the later years when she became a coach herself. We will all miss her warmth and affection. She was a truly special person who will be missed by us all.”

Others reminisced memories of her riding as they donated;

(Toni) gave me this money to put into Paddy’s fund. He was talking about how he used to drive by every morning and see Gracie jumping her horses and how amazing she was!! She’ll be greatly missed.”

Donations have flooded in from far and wide, individuals donating what they can to the cause. From £5 to a £365 donation made from Glasshouse Farm, all funds are sure to be gratefully received.

Meanwhile, Derbyshire Police are continuing their investigation into the murder-suicide of Gracie and 35-year old Michael Sellars, whose body was found close by.

It was on Friday (June 18) when Police confirmed they’d found the body of a woman in a field in Duckmanton, Derbyshire. Paramedics rushed to the scene but the woman, later confirmed to be Gracie, had died. A short time later, the body of a man was discovered at another field close. Police have confirmed that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death of the two people.

However, Derbyshire Police are also to be investigated by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). The IOPC will look into the force over the contact they had with Gracie Spinks prior to her death.
