Exciting continues ahead of Royal Ascot

The anticipation has continued to rise, as we have drawn ever nearer to the 2021 edition of Royal Ascot, which has now finally arrived. The event will see 12,000 guests attending on each of the five days, which is another positive step to returning to normality and 2022 is all but set to welcome a full stand again.

With the event fast approaching, it has led to promotions for betting increasing and this is only set to continue across this popular betting week. With this being the case, here we cover a number of horses that are set to prove popular amongst punters.

Palace Pier

Palace Pier is set to go off as the shortest priced favourite across the week at a general 2/5 and this is expected to get punters off to a winning start in the opening race of Royal Ascot 2021. The four year old is trained by John Gosden and brings in a record of seven wins from his eight starts, that includes a stunning victory in the Lockinge stakes on his last start. He looks head and shoulders above anything else in the race and should get favourite backers off to a strong start at the meeting.

Lord North

Another horse that appeared set to go off favourite but has been drifting in the betting following the strong support of Love. This is Lord North, who is another horse that appears worth following heading into the Prince of Wales’s stakes on Wednesday. He is a horse that really appreciates fast ground, and he is set to get it this week, which will really help with his potent turn off foot. He was a very impressive winner of the race last year and is coming off the back of a Group One victory in Meydan. Lord North now looks a horse to follow moving into Royal Ascot and could be the one to follow on day two.

Point Lonsdale

The final horse to follow is Point Lonsdale in the Chesham stakes on Saturday. The horse has continued to come in for support and is now a general 5/4 favourite. He has only made one appearance to date in a maiden at the Curragh, but this saw him produce a stunning performance to keep on very strongly and win comfortably by just under six lengths. He is likely to have come on leaps and bounds from this and is likely to be another horse that is expected to take the world of beating across the week and could be one of the bankers for Aiden O’Brien.
