Elite Sport Horse Auction Preview

Crowds gathered around the viewing paddock at Bolesworth International this afternoon for the Elite Sport Horse Auction Preview ahead of tonight’s sale.

21 foals will be available during this evening’s auction that takes place at 9.00pm following the day’s competition. The auction offers an exclusive opportunity to purchase youngstock from leading breeders; Harthill Stud, Dutch Sport Horse Sales, Shaw Farm Stud and Millfield Stud.

A clear crowd favourite was the brown colt, Mazzeltov by Cape Coral RBF Z, out of Wiske O. The striking good looks, excellent confirmation and floating pace was clear to see as the tall yearling was previewed.

Last year’s auction raised the roof with Tinker’s Star breaking the Bolesworth Elite Auction record. The foal by Big Star, out of Tinka’s Serenade, was sold for an unbelievable £92,000.

All lots are sold with veterinary certificates, which are completed prior the the auction taking place.

The auction follows the Eventing Grand Prix. This ‘not to be missed’ team event will feature 24 riders who will be paired to work together over a variety of obstacles in a relay format. Fences will be set to a maximum of 1.30m and will include a mixture of cross country and showjump style fences. Teams include Jay Halim and Sam Ecroyd; Carlos Parro and Harriet Nuttall; Anthony Condon and Alex Hua Tian.

There will be no need to register intention to vote, for the Elite Sport Horse Auction, should you already be at the show. Telephone bids will be accepted but it is imperative to register prior to the auction via telephone on 01829 307676.
