Elite Equine Supplements Review

The Rosehip Company launched a brand new product into the UK’s equine market during July 2019, namely: Elite Equine Supplements, a 100% organic Rosehip supplement for horses.

Rosehip, known for many decades to be advantageous to human health, has now been proven to offer benefits to the horse’s health and immune system too.

Elite Equine is a 100% natural supplement for horses, designed to support all-round good health, a healthy immune system and healthy joints and suppleness. Made solely from the powder extracted from the Rosa Canina plant.

Rosehips is an effective, natural and rich source of vitamin C and other antioxidants and a powerful support for the horse’s own anti-inflammatory process.

The Biotin contained within Rosehips helps to support healthy hoof development.

The calming effect on both the inner working of the digestive system as well as the adrenal glands, have been remarked upon by well-known animal herbalist, Robert MacDowell, as it provides support for the horse’s circulatory systems and organs such as the kidney and liver.

Everything Horse Trial of the Elite Equine Supplement

On first impressions: The supplement comes in large robust tubs (1kg), which are sealed for freshness and safe delivery of the product. On opening, there is no aroma to the 100% Organic Rosa Canina Powder inside, and there’s a large scoop included for easy measurement of the product.

The product comes in the form of a micro-grain powder, and when added to the feed mixes nicely with water. The supplement was fed alongside powdered garlic to begin with (as pictured below), we also fed on its own alongside Dengie Alfa-A. Despite the orange colour, once mixed and consumed there’s no staining to the horse’s muzzle or handlers clothes. The feed is extremely palatable, both of our horses relished each tea time meal, with no hesitation before tucking in!

“Both horses really seemed to relish their meals, making it ideal for horses who may be more sensitive to stronger flavoured supplements”

Over the space of six weeks, we observed:

  • Increased hair growth, especially around the top of the dock where one horse had damage.
  • Increased palatability
  • Improved coat condition
  • Healthy hoof growth (hoof formed from coronet during use)
  • Firmer droppings, especially on a change of paddock.
  • A decrease in the amount of raised bumps from fly bites

We would recommend this product as a general or multi-use supplement. Can be fed daily, alongside any high-fibre based feed, to aid long term joint health, mobility, and comfort by limiting the white blood cells allowed into the joint.

Also recommended for horses in high-intensity work due to its antioxidant benefits.

Instructions recommend an initial ‘loading’ period, before decreasing to a maintenance amount. Read instructions before feeding, and gain accurate weight of horse before measuring for consumption. Free download to determine weight of your horse here https://eliteequineuk.com/downloads/
