Nicky Henderson’s runner has now won four races at Grade One level. He maintained his 100% record with a 17-length success at the Surrey-based racecourse. Under the hands of Nico de Boinville, he cantered home on the bridle, finishing ahead of former Champion Hurdle winner Epatante and Highway One O Two respectively.

This latest win was the five-year-old’s second success of the season. He made his return to action in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle. That was his opening appearance outside of novice company, but the result remained the same, as his rivals could not get close to him in the closing stages of that race.

If Honeysuckle lines up in the Champion Hurdle in March, she will be bidding for her third straight success in the race. The talented mare has won 12 Grade One races in her career. She has consistently been the leading horse in the division over the last few years.
De Bromhead’s runner needs to bounce back from a disappointing performance at Fairyhouse on her seasonal reappearance. She could only finish third of eight runners in the race which was won by Teahupoo.
State Man and Vauban are both set to represent Willie Mullins in the Champion Hurdle this year. The Irishman has been successful in the race on four occasions.
