Charlotte Makes it a Triple at Bolesworth International
Watch the interview below.
Charlotte Dujardin rose victorious once again with a third win of the day during the CDI3* Grand Prix at Bolesworth International this afternoon.
Riding a spine-tingling test, Charlotte Dujardin and Mount St John Freestyle, glided across the arena as spectators gazed in awe at the beauty that unfolded before of them. The nine-year-old Hannovarian mare, with Charlotte on board, has been nicknamed Mrs Valegro for her excellent trainability and work ethic.
‘I’m absolutely over the moon with her’ boasted Charlotte who was clearly over the moon with her success with the mare.
There were 15 riders who took to the international arena all hoping for a top spot on the leaderboard. Of all who started, seven posted scores over 70%, with Charlotte 0.4% below the 80% she so desperately wanted.
Carl Hester with his ride and World Equestrian Games hopeful, Hawtins Delicato, took an early lead finishing on a score of 77.2%. The horse, which is fairly new to the Grand Prix circuit, has so far demonstrated incredible talent providing Charlotte and her team of horses with serious competition.
Following Charlotte’s round, which stole the leaderboard position from Carl, Warwickshire based rider Gareth Hughes entered the arena. Gareth has already been enjoying a season of success and his round today failed to disappoint. The bright bay gelding, Classic Briolinca, produced a good mid 70’s scoring from each judge to finish the pair in third place.
Finishing less than 1% behind Gareth Hughes was Emile Faurie riding Dono Di Maggio, with Fiona Bigwood and Kjaerholm’s Abutsiaq on 71.0%.
The final results were as follows;
- Charlotte Dujardin riding Mount St John Freestyle, 79.6
- Carl Hester riding Hawtins Delicato, 77.2
- Gareth Hughes riding Classic Briolinca, 74.4
- Emile Faurie riding Dono Di Maggio, 73.5
- Fiona Bigwood riding Kjaerholm’s Abutsiaq, 71.00
