The British Equestrian Federation (BEF) has released a statement regarding the 5* classification at Royal Windsor Horse Show for 2020. Submission in respect of the classification was due before September 2018. Due to an internal error, the deadline was missed, leaving the 5* level of competition at next year’s show in jeopardy. The Royal Veterinary College (RVC) is proud to announce the successful graduation of all 12 students from its new Graduate Diploma in Equine Locomotor Research. The Animal Health Trust (AHT) today confirmed that the number of laboratory-confirmed outbreaks of Equine Influenza (EI) in Great Britain has now exceeded more than 200; this is compared to just two outbreaks reported in 2018. Ashley Stout, a 13-year-old US eventer has died during a freak accident whilst riding her horse in a cross country training session, at the Standing Ovation Equestrian Centre in Pennsylvania. The rotational fall proved fatal to both horse and rider. Stout’s horse, the 7-year-old horse warmblood gelding – Avant Garde – sustained a broken neck during the incident, resulting in euthanization.
