Set up in memory of five-star rider Georgie, who died in a cross-country fall in May 2024, the Georgie Campbell Foundation is offering a two-year bursary to an event rider whose career and business are at an early stage. Durham-based rider Will Murray pulled off a classy performance to win the HorseQuest Novice Masters at Belsay International (2), riding Linda Philipson’s seven-year-old mare Drumrankin IDHA. GBR rider, Georgie Campbell has tragically died following a fall at Bicton International Horse Trials, today Sunday May 26th 2024. Campbell was competing on ISH stallion, Global Quest, on the final day of this year’s event when she fell at fence 5B on the cross-country course. Campbell was immediately attended by medical staff, but despite their best efforts the equestrian could not be saved.
