Team GB Eventers Named for CHIO Aachen 2025
Five-strong British squad heads to Germany for the prestigious Nations Cup competition
British Equestrian has announced the eventing team that will represent Great Britain at the renowned CHIO Aachen, with the eventing leg set to take place 4–5 July 2025. The selected riders include some of the sport’s most accomplished names and rising stars, backed by an impressive lineup of experienced horses.
This year’s team promises a strong showing in what is often dubbed the “Wimbledon of equestrian sport”—with national pride, Olympic ambitions, and Nations Cup points all on the line.
The CHIO Aachen 2025 British Eventing Team:
- Laura Collett with Dacapo, a 16-year-old gelding owned by Gillian Morris-Adams, Diana Chappell, Carolyn Taylor, and Michael and Alison Smedley
- Caroline Harris with D Day, an 11-year-old gelding owned by Fiona Oliver, Lucy Matthews, Marie Anne Richardson, and Heather Royle
- Tom McEwen with Brookfield Quality, a 16-year-old gelding owned by Alison Swinburn and John and Chloe Perry
- Bubby Upton with Cannavaro, an 18-year-old gelding owned by Rachel Upton
- Gemma Stevens with Flash Cooley, a 13-year-old gelding owned by Pru Dawes
The team will be led by Chef d’Équipe Sarah Verney, bringing her wealth of experience and strategic leadership to one of the most competitive fixtures on the international calendar.

CHIO Aachen is one of the few venues in the world that hosts top-tier competition across dressage, showjumping, and eventing in a single festival.
