Great Britain’s vaulters announced for World Equestrian Games

British Equestrian Vaulting selectors have today announced the team that will compete at the FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) 2018, which takes place in Tryon, USA (11-23 September).

The selected squad boasts an exciting mix of experience, with British champion Lucy Phillips making her fourth WEG appearance, whilst for the majority of the squad, Tryon represents their first World Equestrian Games, after having previously competed at the vaulting world championships in 2016. Rebecca Norval is also selected for her first WEG, having received her first senior call-up at the European Championships in 2015.

Vaulting Chef d’Equipe, Jane Eccles comments;

It’s fantastic to have such a strong team selected for Tryon and a really exciting time, with some athletes making their WEG debuts. There have been some really positive results this year, for both the squad and our two individual vaulters, and we look forward to making the journey out to the Games later this summer.”

Equestrian Team GBR is supported by the UK Sport National Lottery funded World Class Programme; the British teams are very grateful to the support they receive from official partners Dodson and Horrell, Equi-Trek, FALPRO England, Musto, NAF and Point Two.
