Laura Collett’s New Rides

Laura Collett, the 4* event rider, has gained two new rides, Parkfield Quintessential and Finduss PFB; both of which are currently working at 3* level.

Both horses were previously ridden by Holly Woodhead. Woodhead’s recent move to Ireland to join the River Lodge Equestrian Team, which produces event and show-jump horses, meant she has had to give up the rides. Both horses are, and will remain, owned by Parkfield Breeding.

The horses have a successful history with their previous riders. Parkfield Quintessential, the 10-year-old gelding by Quicksilber achieved 6th in the World Championships for six-year-olds at Le Lion d’Angers, with Zoe Wilkinson. After less than a year with Holly Woodhead, Parkfield Quintessential finished 3rd in the eight and nine-year-old CIC3* at Blenheim, in 2017.

Finduss PFB was also ridden by Wilkinson and Woodhead. The partnerships saw Finduss PFB finishing in the top-10 in the CCI* at Tattersalls, in both 2016 and 2017. Finduss PFB has only moved up to competing at 3* this year.

On social media, Collett credited Woodhead for her work with the horses, and wished her luck in the role she is undertaking in Ireland;

I feel very lucky to get to rider on such super horses the @hollyWoodhead2 has produced amazingly still can’t believe my bestie is moving to Ireland but I know she will do fab in her new role at RLE (River Lodge Equestrian)”.

Collett and Parkfield Quintessential have already competed together. The partnership placed 2nd in their first competition together; the Open Intermediate at Great Witchingham (30th June). Collett also competed with Finduss PFB, taking 6th in the eight-year-old section at Great Witchingham.
