The prestigious sale takes place at 18:00 on Saturday 20 December in the New Horizon Plastics London Arena. It’s a partnership between two showjumping powerhouses: Breen Equestrian and The Billy Stud.

Europe’s Most Sought-After Pony Makes History

This year marks a significant milestone. The auction features its first-ever 148cm lot.

Rouet Rouge headlines the collection. The exceptional gelding is currently billed as one of the key rides in Europe. He took the Pony Foxhunter Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships under Ella Spencer in August. He also secured runner-up placings in the CSIP 1.35m Grand Prix at Bolesworth and the National 148cm Championship.

Breen Stable Stars

Orville VD Watermolen comes from the Breen Equestrian stable. The 2019 bay stallion is by Equus Tame.

Shane Breen describes the promising prospect as “very good to ride” with “outstanding balance and canter.” He adds that the stallion is “very energetic” and has “been very consistent all year.” Breen notes he continues to prove himself “careful, scopey, and really fun,” with “a great future in amongst a top string of horses for a top rider.”

Billy Stud Quality

Five horses from The Billy Stud feature in the line-up. The stud is famed for its quality.

Billy Pronto has been topping the leaderboard in several young horse classes over the summer. Billy Hellman, described as “scopey and adjustable,” impressed at a recent 1.30m Championship at Hickstead.

Connections are particularly excited by Billy Outspoken. The “straightforward, sporty” eight-year-old mare is performing consistently well in 1.40m tracks across the 2025 season. She promises the full package. A Grand Prix career beckons.

British & Irish Breeding Excellence

The selection team has sourced exceptional lots beyond the Billy and Breen stables. These highlight the strength of British and Irish breeding and producing.

Zamira Blue is winning consistently at 1.30m. Rial’s Varinjo secured equal first in the CSIYH1* at Oliva Nova. BE Golden Air took victory in the five-year-old qualifier at The British Young Horse Championships at Hickstead.

Proven Alumni Success

These horses are tipped to follow in the footsteps of previous Brilliance Horse Auction alumni.

Breen family graduates include Konrad Obolensky, currently jumping at CSI5* under Trevor Breen. Geniale Star Kervec won the 3* Grand Prix in Doha earlier this year with Duatre Seabra. Ballyshan B F Superhero is the only horse to win the Irish Breeders Classic back-to-back as both a five- and six-year-old.

Billy Stud horses remain in exceptionally high demand. Alumni include Billy Etna, the silver medallist in the Belgian Championships for Young Riders 2024. Billy Fern is currently campaigned at CSI5* by David Simpson. Billy Fu is winning at CSI4* under Thomas Whitaker.

William Funnell commented: “We are thrilled to welcome The Brilliance Horse Auction Co.’s London Collection back to the London International Horse Show. With an exceptional line-up that features top-level jumping horses and one of Europe’s most exciting ponies, this year promises to build on last year’s fantastic atmosphere in the New Horizon Plastics London Arena. The calibre of horses ensures another unforgettable auction for buyers both from the UK and overseas.”

Simon Brooks-Ward, Event Director of the London International Horse Show, added: “The Brilliance Horse Auction Co.’s Elite Collection is a highlight of the Show, providing a chance for our audience to get up close to these stars of the future. The quality of horses available this year looks to make for a vintage year, and we are delighted to host this event at the home of the British leg of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™.”

Auction Experience and Entertainment

Hospitality tables are now on sale for £300 for six guests. This includes a champagne and canapé reception from 5pm, followed by a mezze platter. Waiters will serve drinks throughout. The auction is preceded by a short programme of Christmas entertainment.

Alongside the Saturday evening auction, visitors can enjoy The Brilliance Horse Auction Masterclass on Thursday 18 December. The Auction Showcase featuring 5* riders takes place on Friday 19 December.
