Bolesworth Equine Learning Zone Welcomes Dressage Superstars
Bolesworth Equine Learning Zone and Fan Zone News
Visitors to Bolesworth International on Thursday were treated to a talk from Olympic dressage riders Charlotte Dujardin, Carl Hester, Laura Tomlinson and Richard Davidson.
Held in the Equine Learning Zone, which is new for 2016, the riders stopped in ahead of the evening dressage performances to talk about the sport of Dressage, London 2012 and to answer quick fire questions from visitors to the event.
Carl on dressage success in London. “It turned the sport around in many ways, the year before we won our first team gold at the Euoropean championships. London meant so much to all of us, me, Charlotte and Richard”.
Richard on Olympic pressure “We learnt a lot from other peoples home Olympics. I must say the UK Sports World Class programme also helped prepare an awful lot for the pressures of dealing with home Olympics, so I do feel we were well prepared”.
Charlotte on the preparations for the 2016 Rio Olympics “Preperations are good, just really really excited to be heading out to do, hopefully, another Olympic Games. We have a really great team. It’s so nice to be working with Carl and other people having their experiences. This time I’m going into the games where I’m more prepared. I know what I have got to face and what’s to be expected. I have more pressure and expectations but for me it’s all about going there and enjoying it, it is just another arena, in another place doing the same thing, so that’s what I shall do”.
