BACK ON TRACK ANNOUNCE SPONSORSHIP OF BIOMECHANICS SPECIALIST RUSSELL GUIRE

Back on Track are delighted to announce a new sponsorship alliance with the UK’s leading specialist in horse and rider biomechanics, Russell Guire. Through his company, Centaur Biomechanics, Russell is dedicated to helping horses and riders at all levels improve their riding and horse’s way of going, and firmly believes that Back on Track products support suppleness and wellbeing.

Russell first saw Back on Track products when visiting the European Championships in Aachen and was immediately attracted to their quality, and the concept of the benefits they could bring to horses.

“As a scientist, I am usually cynical about claims made by manufacturers of products, but I wanted to try Back on Track at home so I negotiated to purchase the Royal Quick Wraps, a mesh rug and some boots. I really noticed a difference – my horse felt really elastic. By accident, the rug was left off for a couple of days and the horse started to feel stiff again – he was not nearly so supple, but after using Back on Track he came good again”, explained Russell. “My trainer, Judy Harvey, also noticed that he looked really supple and asked what I had done, so I explained that I had a new rug! I had promised to let Back on Track have some feedback, so I let them know of the great results I was having”, he said.

Russell regularly works with elite riders and horses, is frequently asked to speak at international equine conferences and is present at top equestrian events throughout the world. He is also an accomplished dressage rider and competed at the National Dressage Championships at Stoneleigh this year. “Russell shares our commitment to wellbeing and we are delighted to be working with him”, said Georgia Keegan, a veterinary physiotherapist and Back on Track UK key account manager.

Russell was attracted to Back on Track by the evidence-based approach, alongside clinical research that really complimented it. As a rider and trainer, he found that the benefits were impressive. “To see such a difference by the third day, and to feel the horse so elastic was phenomenal. He lives in his rug now”, said Russell. “I love the concept of it – the therapeutic benefits for the horse are so worthwhile. Most people cheat at warming up, but this product can provide a therapeutic head start. Infra-red is recognised and proven, and improved circulation can help improve the range of movement to optimise performance and training. Outside of the competition arena, the benefits of increased circulation help to restore, repair and prepare for training and performance the next day. This is so important for the welfare and wellbeing of our horses”, explained Russell.

“Centaur Biomechanics is focused on improving welfare, soundness and performance of the horse. Back on track has the same ethos and this is the only reason I approached Back on Track. Other companies with therapy products regularly approach me, but with Back on Track I feel I am working with a company that shares my way of thinking”, said Russell.
