Aldi Launches Specialbuys Horse Riding Lessons alongside Clothing Launch

Aldi is set to launch Specialbuys Horse Riding Lessons, offering a 30% discount on standard prices for 30-minute private lessons, to encourage old and new riders to get into the saddle, particularly appealing to parents who have been unable to introduce their kids to the sport due to expense.

REIN IT IN! ALDI LAUNCHES SPECIALBUYS HORSE RIDING LESSONS

  • Supermarket Aldi set to launch discounted horse riding lessons alongside its NEW Specialbuy Equestrian clothing range, helping shoppers save £££s against competitors
  • 1/3 of ex-riders stopped due to costs, Aldi is making the sport more accessible for all
  • Offering 30% off standard tuition prices, parents across the UK will be able to introduce their children to the sport, for less

For the first-time ever, supermarket Aldi is launching discounted horse riding lessons, alongside its NEW Equestrian Specialbuys clothing range, as part of its ‘Rein It In’ campaign.

In a bid to help make the sport more accessible to all, Aldi has linked up with two prestigious horse riding schools and with prices starting at £21 per lesson there’s a whopping 30% discount available. Neigh way? YES WAY!

Over the past few years, nearly one fifth of ex-riders were forced to stop due to the cost[1]. This comes as no surprise when horse owners incur a maintenance cost of between three and 10 thousand pounds, per year alone[2].

To combat this cost-barrier and boost wider involvement, Aldi’s lessons will provide a 30% discount on standard rates to encourage old and new riders to get into the saddle, particularly appealing to parents who have been unable to introduce their kids to the sport due to expense.

30-minute private riding lessons for both adults and children, at Summerhouse Equestrian in Cheltenham, and Parbold Equestrian in Lancashire, will be available to purchase from the 8th April, whilst stocks last.

Launched alongside Aldi’s Summer Equestrian clothing range – which features everything from riding tops and jodhpurs, to riding boots and socks* and also available on the 8th April in stores and online – the ‘Rein It In’ campaign will provide both beginners and professionals access to affordable horse riding.

The lessons will see riders taught a wide range of skills, such as learning how to mount/dismount a horse, developing balance and control, stopping and steering as well learning how to ask the horse to walk, trot, canter and halt.

Stage 4 BHS Equine Excellence Professional Coach Nicola Bennett, who has been teaching for 40 years, welcomed the Aldi riding initiative as a great way of encouraging people from all walks of life to try the sport. Mrs. Bennett, said: “We have seen an increased interest in our lessons over the years, but historically, it has been seen by many as an expensive hobby.

“We know that riding is now losing the ‘elitist’ tag, is more affordable and, through Aldi’s partnership, encourages people of all ages to come and have a go, or return to riding. Who knows, maybe we will find a budding International Event rider to join our team!”

Julie Ashfield, Joint Managing Director for Corporate Buying at Aldi, comments: “At Aldi, we believe that cost should never lead to compromise. Our competitively priced Equestrian clothing ranges have proven extremely popular in the past, and this year, we want to go one gallop further in making horse riding more accessible for all. By offering discounted horse riding lessons for all the family, we hope that parents across the UK will be able to introduce their children to the sport, or have a go themselves.”
