A group of equestrians will cycle over 205 miles along the UK’s longest bridleway to help raise funds for their beloved friend Saffron Cresswell, who suffered life-changing injuries after a fall at the 4* Bramham Horse Trials this year.

The Pennine Bridleway consists of minor roads, stone tracks, stone setts, worn causey flags, grass and aggregate tracks from Derbyshire, through the Yorkshire Dales to Cumbria. It will take approximately five days (between 7th to 12th of October 2024) to complete the journey, with the funds raised aiming to help Saffron carry on living life to the fullest.

Praised for her ability and coachmanship, Saffron is reported to have created an amazing business, including producing several horses up through the levels of eventing, and competed for Team GB, on several occasions.

A dear friend of Saffron’s, Sarah Franklin commented:

“We hope you can support us as generously as possible on this crazy adventure we are about to undertake to help Saffron with her very long road ahead. If not, we would love to be waved to along the way”.

“Saffron has taken me and my homebred boy ‘Up Mulberry Street’ on the most amazing journey, in eventing right through to 4*L level, an adventure that I never imagined I would experience. Now, I wholeheartedly wish to support Saffron on her current journey”. Sarah concluded.

If you wish to support us, get involved/sponsor the riders on bikes, please contact Sarah Franklin cycleforsaffron@gmx.co.uk or the riders through Facebook posts.

Individual Rider Sponsorship is very welcome, or you could sponsor the whole event via the ‘Just Giving’ link.
