Why Join The British Palomino Society?

The British Palomino Society is a small organisation, run by hard-working volunteers all with a passion to encourage and assist the advancement of Palominos and all Cream Dilutes with their showing and breeding here in the UK.

Well-known for its beautiful gold-coloured coat the Palomino is undoubtedly one of the most stunning and recognisable in the horse world.

If you are a fan of the colour and would like to socialise and compete with like-minded horse and pony owners the society provides a great networking and meeting opportunity not to be missed.

2018 sees a move in direction for the society. The BPS is opening its doors to all shades of Palomino. In the past the BPS has had a very strict colour criterion for showing Palominos. Now the in-hand affiliated classes will be judged on conformation, movement and correctness to type. Awards for correct colour will be judged separately.

Members of the society have access to register their Palominos or Cream Dilutes and apply for a passport if one is required. For those who already have a passport, the society can over stamp the existing passport.

With a community feel, The British Palomino Society also makes it easy for breeders and owners to come together and offer help and advice.

And it doesn’t stop there, there are affiliated classes for members run nationwide plus three championship shows run by the society including the BPS National Championships on July 7-8, 2018 which includes in–hand and ridden classes, plus Dressage, a dedicated novice ring and an open ‘all colours’ show ring.

Lee Mingay of The British Palomino Society said: “The society has a real passion for owning and exhibiting these horses and ponies. Our shows are a great way to gather members together and compete in a supportive environment. It is a great spectacle to see so many of these golden horses and ponies at one event.”
