Victory for Allana Clutterbuck and Sultan Du Barry
Allana Clutterbuck achieved victory today at The Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show, riding Sultan Du Barry.
A field of 30 strong riders entered the main arena at Bolesworth for the Parent Syndicate sponsored European Pony Viewing Trials Grand Prix. Only eight riders made a clear round qualifying for the anticipated jump-off, with the top six to ride away with a financial reward.
Essex based Clutterbuck and her ride were the only combination to achieve a double clear, crossing the finish line in 40.8 seconds, to take home a first along with £500. The 21-year-old rider has so far enjoyed considerable success on 11-year-old gelding, owned by Susan Evans, including selection for the British Showjumping Squad to compete at the Pony European Championships in 2016.
Fraser Reed, riding Jiminy Cricket thundered around the course for the fastest jump-off, stopping the clock on 40.46 seconds. Sadly, although quicker in pace, Reed lowered a pole dashing his hopes for a double clear and top of the board placing.
Hannah Barker and Amman Valley Santino road steady, only lowering one pole during their carefully navigated round. Barker finished in third scooping £300 in prize money.
Oliver Fletcher qualified for the jump-off on the first of his two entries, Zodianne Van Deoevenbree, owned by Michael Whitaker. Although the pair stormed the course completing in 42.96 seconds, two individual poles meant they slipped down the final line-up, finishing in sixth place.
