Today’s Placepot Picks: Friday 6 November 2026 Aintree Tips
Today’s Placepot picks are for Aintree, where the first leg starts at 12.40pm. The Grade 2 Haldon Gold Cup is the fifth leg, but the trickiest race to get through may be the three-runner novice chase just before it. Watery Borren and Mirabad are the two bankers on our 16-line ticket. The going is good to soft, good in places.
Aintree Placepot picks: all six legs
| Leg | UK time | Selections |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 12.40pm | Watery Borren |
| 2 | 1.15pm | Off The Jury, Stride On |
| 3 | 1.50pm | All In You, Lyssenko |
| 4 | 2.25pm | Klimt Madrik, Royal Infantry |
| 5 | 3.00pm | Mirabad |
| 6 | 3.35pm | Here Comes Georgie, Master Chewy |
Where the ticket could come unstuck
Watery Borren won on his hurdling debut at Carlisle and is the sole pick in the opener. He has a 6lb penalty for that win, and with only four runners declared there is little room for error. We take two in the staying novice chase: Off The Jury has won his last two starts, while Stride On gets a place on the ticket on the strength of his novice hurdle form. In the 1.50pm, All In You provides cover alongside Lyssenko, who makes his British debut.
The 2.25pm Future Stars Silver Bowl is the leg where field size matters most. With three runners declared, the usual Placepot terms mean finding the winner. Klimt Madrik was second on his chasing debut and gets 5lb from Royal Infantry, who won last time out. Both go on the ticket.
Mirabad is the second banker. He has already won over the Haldon Gold Cup course and distance and carries 6lb less than top-weight JPR One. In the final leg, Here Comes Georgie heads the racecard forecast, while Master Chewy brings course form and returns after wind surgery.

How much does the Aintree ticket cost?
The ticket has 16 lines: one selection in two races and two selections in each of the other four. At 10p a line, that works out at £1.60, subject to the Tote’s entry terms. To qualify for a dividend, a line needs a placed selection in all six legs. Aintree’s 4.05pm finale is the seventh race and isn’t part of this ticket.
