Redwings says goodbye to oldest resident
Redwings Horse Sanctuary has announced the sad passing of its oldest resident, Welsh pony Willow, at the age of 46. Willow came to Redwings in 2003 following a successful RSPCA prosecution. She had been living on the Welsh commons, where she had received little or no handling from humans. Over the years, she became a friendly and much-loved girl and was a favourite of all those who met her. Redwings releases footage of horses distressed by fireworks
Redwings Horse Sanctuary is releasing video footage (Below) showing the effects of fireworks on some of their residents taken yesterday (Bonfire Night, Sunday 5th November). Last week the largest horse welfare charity in the UK urged people to contact their local MP to ask for a review of fireworks legislation and the impact they have on animals. Suffering foal found upside down in rubble is now doing well in Redwings’ care
A poor neglected foal who was found suffering terribly at a rubbish tip in December 2022 is now doing well in the care of Redwings Horse Sanctuary. He was thought to be only about 5 months old and was completely emaciated under his hair. He was covered in pressure sores on many parts of his little body, had a significant worm burden and could not stand on his own. He was lying, collapsed and upside down, in a pile of rubble, partially covered by an old mattress. An RSPCA officer…
