Redwings Launch REDTalks Virtual Learning
Redwings Horse Sanctuary has announced the launch of REDTalks, a new virtual opportunity for young equine enthusiasts who want to learn more about horse care and the work of the charity.
As Redwings’ visitor centres remain closed due to the latest coronavirus lockdown, the new REDTalks sessions will offer schools and youth groups the chance to enjoy free online presentations and quizzes, meet a member of the Redwings team and ask questions.
The interactive talks, aimed at ages 5-11, will help children discover more about Redwings’ work to rescue and rehabilitate horses and donkeys, and help them become “Horsey Heroes” by teaching them what it takes to keep a horse happy and healthy.
Charlotte McMorran, Redwings’ Education Officer, said:
As schools and groups are facing more weeks of virtual learning, we hope our fun talks will inspire a new generation of animal lovers to find out all about the work of Redwings and how to care for our equine friends.
Redwings is committed to helping horses beyond our paddock fences through our education programme and this is an exciting new way for us to continue with those aims while everyone stays at home.”
Bookings are now being taken and, while each talk is free, the charity welcomes donations or for groups to sponsor one of the Sanctuary’s Adoption Stars.
As well as younger horse fans, Redwings already offers free talks and presentations for adult community groups.
