Prize-money to double at the SsangYong Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials
SsangYong Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials is delighted to announce that prize-money levels in the both the CCI3* and CIC3* classes will be doubled this year – and that winning riders will have the use of a SsangYong Tivoli for a year.
The first prize in the CCI3* will be £16,000, making it much the most valuable CCI3* prize in Europe, and the total prize-fund will be more than £50,000. The first prize in the CIC3* will be £5,000 with a total prize-fund of more than £15,000.
The prestigious Oxfordshire-based horse trials, held in the grounds of Blenheim Palace, is Britain’s premier three-star event, and these prize-money increases reflect that status
Event Director Mandy Hervieu said: “Improving the prize-money we offer to riders and owners is something that we have wanted to do for some time.
“Now, as a result of investment in the event by our new title sponsor SsangYong Motors, coupled with further support from the Event Rider Masters (ERM) series, which holds its final at the event, and British Eventing, we are in a position to be able to increase the prize-money for both the CCI3* and CIC3* substantially, effectively doubling the prize-pot.
“This is great news for riders and owners as the prize-money improvement goes right down the line.”
In a fantastic added bonus, SsangYong Motors is also giving the winners of the CCI3* and CIC3* for eight- and nine-year-old horses the use of a SsangYong Tivoli for a year. The Tivoli is a contemporary small SUV designed to be both elegant and practical, and has a useful blend of space, comfort and manoeuvrability with a high level of standard equipment.
