Polo – Team line-ups revealed for Arena Polo Test Match

Polo News Hickstead – The teams who will contest the annual Arena Polo International Test Match at Hickstead have been named.

England will once again face the USA at the All England Polo Club (Saturday 5 March 2016), and they’re hoping for retribution after the home side was defeated when the two teams last met here two years ago.

In 2014, the might of 10-goal captain Tommy Biddle helped lead the USA to victory – but this time England also boasts a 10-goaler in captain Chris Hyde, who was upgraded to the highest handicap rating in the autumn Arena Polo rankings.

Hyde will be joined by eight-goaler Johnny Good and Ed Banner Eve (4 goals). They’ll play against Biddle’s team of Pelon Escapite (7 goals) and Kareem Rosser (3 goals), meaning the visitors will be given a two-goal advantage based on handicap.

The International Test Match for the Bryan Morrison Trophy will be preceded by a match played between the Clogau Wales Team (Ricky Cooper, Roddy Matthews and Peter Webb) and the Hedonism Wines team (Evgeny Chichvarkin, Royston Prisk and Jack Richardson).

In addition to the two thrilling games of polo to enjoy, the Clubhouse will be open all day, serving a range of food and drinks and providing the perfect vantage point from which to watch the action.

The gates open at 10.30am, with tickets available on the day or online in advance. Entry costs just £5 per person, making it superb value for money.

There are a limited number of tickets left for the post-match luncheon, where you can enjoy both a delicious three-course meal and the company of polo’s elite for just £49.50 per person plus admission.

For tickets and further information, visit the Hickstead Box Office.
