Today’s Placepot Picks: Leicester selections for Monday 21 September
Monday’s Placepot focus falls on Leicester, where seven races make up an afternoon Flat card on ground currently described as good.
The Placepot begins with the 1.59pm nursery and covers the opening six races, finishing with the competitive one-mile handicap at 4.47pm. Leg 1: 1.59 Leicester
Selections: Pequenita and Q T Boy
Pequenita has finished runner-up on her last two starts and looks capable of making another strong challenge on her nursery debut. Andrew Balding’s filly has been consistent across her four appearances and sets a useful standard.
Q T Boy provides the insurance. He arrives following a recent victory and should not be overlooked in a small field where only two places may be available.
Leg 2: 2.31 Leicester
Selections: Lovely Dark Angel, Soeur De Flash and Rocsane
Lovely Dark Angel has shown promise in two starts and looks a leading player for George Boughey and Billy Loughnane.
Soeur De Flash has finished third on both appearances and could progress again, while Rocsane has regularly been involved in the finish. Her form figures of 53223 make her an appealing Placepot selection in this 14-runner contest.
Leg 3: 3.02 Leicester
Selections: Warrior Knight, Escalate and Zaeer Al Leith
This seven-furlong novice contest contains several newcomers, making it one of the more difficult legs to assess.
Warrior Knight represents Andrew Balding, while Escalate is an interesting runner for Clive Cox and Rossa Ryan. Zaeer Al Leith completes the trio for Karl Burke, whose two-year-olds are always worth noting.
Leg 4: 3.37 Leicester
Banker: Wadooda
Wadooda is today’s Placepot banker.
The Owen Burrows-trained filly finished second on her only previous start and returns over a longer distance. She is bred to appreciate the step up to a mile and a quarter and could have considerably more to offer.

Leg 5: 4.12 Leicester
Selections: Act Of Violence, Magic Music and Mumayaz
Act Of Violence arrives in dependable form after finishing first, third and second across three of his last four starts. He should once again be competitive under Silvestre de Sousa.
Magic Music is included following market support, while Mumayaz offers a little more Placepot cover. The seven-year-old has not been at his best recently but has enough ability to reach the frame from a favourable draw.
Leg 6: 4.47 Leicester
Selections: Home Hero, Bearin Up and Wesam
Home Hero heads the shortlist in the final leg. Hugo Palmer’s runner has won twice this season and could be well positioned from stall one.
Bearin Up returned to form with a third-place finish last time and has already recorded two wins this year. Wesam is also included on his return to action for Saeed bin Suroor and could be dangerous if ready following his break.
