Paralysed Teen Wins Compensation Following Fall From Horse

Paralysed teen Ashleigh Harris, has been awarded compensation following a fall from a thoroughbred horse when she was 14-years-old.

Ashleigh, now 18,  fell after she mounted the horse, who appeared to be ‘strong and willfull’. Mrs Miller, the horse’s owner, encouraged the young girl to have a ride on the thoroughbred. Although Ashleigh had been described as a competent novice having ridden plenty of ponies, her experience riding horses was ‘limited’. Ashleigh has been left with no sensation in both of her legs.

Mrs Miller had previously bought the horse for £550 and had only rode her briefly in the field before committing to the purchase.

Ashleigh, from Lydney, Gloucestershire, has been awarded 3 million in compensation from Mrs Miller.
