Osberton International Horse Trials Set to Host Leading riders

Most of the country’s leading riders are entered and set to converge on Osberton International Horse Trials later this month.

Well known as a training ground for many horses that go on to compete at world class level, the top eight horses at this year’s Chedington Bicton Park CCI5* Horse Trials were all Osberton International graduates in their earlier years.

Bicton provided a fantastic win for Gemma Tattersall who heads to Osberton alongside Piggy March, Ros Canter, Richard Jones and Oliver Townend all in the top seven at the Devon event.

Said Stuart Buntine, BEDE Events, organisers of Osberton:

We are so proud that many horses successful at Osberton International go on to win at major championships around the world are graduates of the Nottinghamshire event.”

Bumper entries at Osberton International – September 30 to October 3 – see 164 entered in the CCI-L3* and 141 heading to this autumn showcase to set out in the Investec sponsored CCI-L2*.

In the Young Horse Championship the CCI-SYH3* for seven-year-olds has 57 entered, the CCI-SYH2* for six-year-olds will see 86 in the start box and the five-year-old CCI-S1* has 33 on the start list.

Added Stuart Buntine of BEDE Events:

We are delighted with the entry numbers and are really looking forward to an Osberton to remember.

The field of riders entered is top class with this year’s Tokyo gold medal winning team members, Oliver Townend and Laura Collett bringing stars of the future, the in- form Piggy March entered with a team of six horses, and Rosie Fry, this year’s Land Rover Blair International champion all heading to Osberton.”

Leading names, Harry Meade (featured image), Kitty King, Nicola Wilson, Izzy Taylor, Emily King and so many more, make this autumn fixture a must visit for eventing fans and family.

On the young horse front Eliza Stoddart brings two former five-year-old winners, Code Breaker to contest the seven-year-olds and De Pleasure for the six-year-olds while Piggy March brings Cooley Goodwood, winner of last years’ CCI-SYH2* for this year’s seven-year-olds.
